Commitment by NGM Resources Limited (NGM)
NGM is committed to understanding and minimising any adverse impacts of its activities, while continuing to meet the expectations of its stakeholders.
NGM is bound by the 10 National Privacy Principles which form part of the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth).
NGM is committed to ensuring the privacy of the personal information supplied to us, in particular:-
- Collecting only that personal information that is necessary for its functions;
- Using the personal information in a fair and lawful way;
o collecting personal information directly from an individual or, if it has been collected from someone else, taking reasonable steps to ensure the individual is aware that the information has been collected;
o gaining consent to collect sensitive information where required;
- Ensuring the individual giving the personal information is aware of why the information is being collected and who else the information may be given to;
- Only using or disclosing the personal information for the primary purpose of collection;
- Taking reasonable steps to ensure the information is accurate, complete and up to date;
- Taking reasonable steps to protect the information held from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure;
- Taking reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information if it is no longer required; and
- Communicating the contents of this policy to its stakeholders and ensuring its associates are kept up to date and comply with the current legislation.

Collection of Information
NGM collects and holds personal information in its normal day to day operations for the following purposes:-
- To send correspondence to individuals in relation to our operations;
- Internal accounting and administration;
- To protect NGM and other individuals from fraud.
Electronic Use
When an individual logs on to our web sites, our Internet Service Provider makes a record of the visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:
- the individual’s server address, the individual’s top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc);
- the date and time of the individual’s visit to the site;
- the pages the individual accessed and documents downloaded;
- the previous site the individual has visited;
- the type of browser and version the individual is using;
- the operating system the individual is using.
Access to this information
NGM will not make an attempt to identify users or their browsing activities. However, in the unlikely event of an investigation, a law enforcement agency or other government agency may exercise its legal authority to inspect our Internet Service Provider''s logs.
Use of this information
We will only record an individual’s e-mail address if that individual has sent us a message or filled out our contact form on the web site in question. The individual’s e-mail address will only be used for the purpose for which it was provided and it will not be added to a mailing list or used for any other purpose without that individual’s consent.
This site does not provide facilities for the secure transmission of information across the Internet. Users should be aware that there are inherent risks transmitting information across the Internet.
Cookies
NGM’s sites may use session cookies. Cookies can be either "persistent" or "session" based. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer, contain an expiration date, and may be used to track your browsing behaviour upon return to the issuing web site. Session cookies are short-lived, are used only during a browsing session, and expire when the individual quits the browser. Upon an individual closing their browser, any session cookie set by this web site is destroyed and no personal information is maintained which might identify the individual should they visit our web site at a later date. The web site statistics for this site are generated from the web logs.
Protecting Personal Information
NGM will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access modification or disclosure.
In protecting this information NGM has:-
- adopted measures to prevent unauthorised entry to its premises, systems to detect unauthorised access and secure containers for storing paper-based personal information;
- adopted measures to protect computer systems and networks for storing, processing and transmitting personal information from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure;
- adopted measures to protect communications via data transmission, including email and voice, from interception and preventing unauthorised intrusion into computer networks; and
- adopted procedural and personnel measures for limiting access to personal information by authorised staff for approved purposes and controls to minimise security risks to its IT systems.
Access to Personal Information
An individual can contact the Privacy Officer to ascertain what personal information the company holds. The Privacy Officer will attempt to answer the individual’s request immediately however, the Privacy Officer may require time to answer your query and will undertake to provide that information within 5 business days.
Destroying Personal Information
An individual can contact the Privacy Officer to have their personal information held by the Company destroyed or permanently de-identified.
Destruction of such records will be by secure means through shredding, pulping or disintegration of paper or by the deletion process electronically.
De-identification will be permanent and the Company will take reasonable steps to ensure that the de-identified information cannot be re-identified in the hands of an organisation receiving the data.
Complaints Resolution
At the first instance, if an individual wishes to make a complaint, it should do so in writing, addressing the complaint to:-

If the individual cannot resolve the complaint with NGM the Office of Federal Privacy Commissioner conciliates the complaint using letters and phone calls or in some cases, face-to-face meetings.
